You may have seen me share that I’ve recently passed my Save Face clinic assessment – but what does that actually mean for you as a patient?
In a nutshell: it’s independent proof that you’re being treated by a medically-qualified practitioner, in a clinic that has been thoroughly inspected and meets strict standards for safety, hygiene and professionalism.
Let’s break that down.

What is Save Face?
Save Face is a national register of accredited practitioners who provide non-surgical cosmetic treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers. The register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) and is recognised by the Government, the Department of Health and NHS bodies as a trusted way for the public to find safe practitioners. Importantly, Save Face is only open to doctors, dentists, nurses and prescribing pharmacists, and every clinic listed has been inspected in person against a detailed set of standards. Save Face+1
So when you see the Save Face quality mark, you know someone has already done the homework for you.
Why regulation matters in aesthetics
In the UK, non-surgical cosmetic treatments are still poorly regulated. Legally, injectable treatments can be offered by people with very little or no medical training, and it can be difficult for patients to tell who is genuinely safe and experienced. Temple Clinic
That’s where Save Face comes in. Their role is to act as a “safety filter” – checking:
Who is treating you
What products are being used
Where and how your treatment is being delivered
So instead of relying on Instagram photos or cheap deals, you can base your decision on independent, evidence-based checks.

What does Save Face actually check?
Before a practitioner or clinic is accepted onto the register, Save Face carries out a comprehensive on-site assessment. This looks at:
Qualifications and training – are they a registered healthcare professional with appropriate aesthetic training?
Insurance and indemnity – is there suitable cover in place for the treatments being offered?
Medicines and products – are these licensed, genuine and sourced from reputable UK pharmacies?
Infection control & hygiene – is the treatment environment clean, safe and properly equipped? Cosmetic Courses+1
Policies, consent and record-keeping – are there robust processes for consultation, consent, aftercare and complications?
Complaints and governance – is there a clear system for dealing with concerns and learning from them?
It’s not just a tick-box exercise: Save Face use a detailed multi-point checklist (over 100 separate standards) and clinics are re-assessed regularly to make sure those standards are maintained. Save Face+1
What my Save Face accreditation means for you
As a GDC-registered dentist with a special interest in facial aesthetics, I’ve always worked within a medical model – but going through the Save Face process takes things a step further.
My accreditation means that:
You’re being treated by a medically-qualified practitioner, registered with a UK healthcare regulator
My clinic has been physically inspected and meets independent standards for hygiene, safety and professionalism
I use genuine, licensed products from reputable UK pharmacies
My consultation, consent and aftercare processes have been checked and meet Save Face standards
There are clear pathways in place if you ever have a concern, a complication or simply a question after your treatment
In short: you don’t have to take my word for it. My practice has been independently scrutinised and approved.

How to check if someone is Save Face accredited
If you’re ever considering treatment (with me or anyone else), you can:
Look for the Save Face logo on their website or clinic materials
Visit the Save Face website and use the “Find a Practitioner” search tool to verify that they are genuinely accredited and to read more about their clinic and treatments Save Face+1
If you can’t find them on the register, it’s absolutely okay – and sensible – to ask why.
Final thoughts
Choosing where to have aesthetic treatment is a big decision. Save Face accreditation is there to make that choice simpler and safer.
For you, it means:
Confidence that your practitioner is a registered healthcare professional
Reassurance that their clinic has been inspected and meets strict standards
Peace of mind that someone independent is checking they’re doing things properly
If you’d like to know more about what my Save Face accreditation involves, I’m always happy to talk it through at your consultation – or you can explore the Save Face website for yourself.
